About us

About the Lab.

Immigrant Entrepreneur Lab brings together research, practical initiatives and an open library on how immigrants start and grow businesses — for founders, researchers and the people who shape policy.

Immigrants build businesses wherever they settle — corner shops and software firms, family trades and global ventures. Yet what we know about them is scattered across journals, agencies, languages and borders. The Lab gathers that knowledge, tests it, and turns it into something founders, researchers and policymakers can use.

What the Lab does

  • Research — Studies, research articles, reviews, frameworks and academic work on how immigrants start, run and grow businesses.
  • Initiatives — Projects that turn findings into action — awareness campaigns, information leaflets and entrepreneurship education.
  • Ecosystems — The organizations, programs, funding sources, universities and policies that support immigrant entrepreneurs.
  • Insights — Articles, analysis, opinion and trends — research-based thinking on immigrant entrepreneurship.
  • Library — Books, journal articles, reports, datasets, government resources and other learning materials — gathered, annotated and easy to cite.
  • Impact — Evidence of what the Lab’s work has achieved — publications, readership, resource use, collaborations, presentations and other documented results.

Who it is for

Founders and future founders, looking for plain-language guides, support programs and funding routes. Researchers and students, looking for the field’s key literature and datasets. And the policymakers and support organizations designing services that work for immigrant founders.
